Legal Interruption of Pregnancy (ILE)
Legal termination of pregnancy (LTP) is a human rights issue. It allows individuals to exercise their right to decide freely on the continuation of a pregnancy in the early stages of gestational age.
In Jalisco, the law allows women to request a legal termination of pregnancy based on their own decision and without having to provide a reason, up to 12 full weeks of gestation.
Other states, such as Mexico City, Oaxaca, Hidalgo, Veracruz, Baja California, Colima, Sinaloa, Guerrero, Baja California Sur, Quintana Roo, Aguascalientes, Puebla, Michoacán, San Luis Potosí, Chiapas, Zacatecas, the State of Mexico, Nayarit, Campeche, Yucatán, and Tabasco have laws that respect this right.
