This book is a collective work that makes us reflect on the current situation of abortion in Mexico (in different regions) and in Latin America based on serious studies that measure realities.

One of the issues that has always been present when discussing abortion is that of inequalities and privileged access for certain sectors of the population. The drug equalizes and makes it possible to reach the most vulnerable and disadvantaged sectors. This is not a minor point. In times of pandemic, it has been available to perform the procedure at home. In other times, conditions would have been totally different.

The termination of pregnancy with the use of medication avoids hospitalization and the use of dangerous and invasive means to which many women previously resorted. This work shows the differences between abortion procedures in permissive areas compared to areas of prohibition and legal sanction.

Realities and Challenges of Medical Abortion in Mexico, talks about women holding hands, taking into account the accompaniment among them; it also presents the work of doctors, nurses and midwives who favor safe conditions in abortion processes and contribute to the reduction of barriers to its access, with supportive, understanding and responsible attitudes.

In this book, which has been written by gender and health specialists, science speaks.
