Legal Interruption of Pregnancy (ILE)
Legal termination of pregnancy (ILE) is a human rights issue. It allows people to exercise their right to freely decide whether to continue a pregnancy during the early stages of gestation.
In Michoacán, the law allows women to request a legal termination of pregnancy based on their own decision and without having to provide a reason, up to 12 full weeks of gestation.
Other states, such as Mexico City, Oaxaca, Hidalgo, Baja California, Colima, Sinaloa, Guerrero, Baja California Sur, Quintana Roo, Aguascalientes, Puebla, Jalisco, San Luis Potosí, Chiapas, Zacatecas, the State of Mexico, Michoacán, Nayarit, Campeche, Yucatán, and Tabasco have laws that respect this right.

Abortion is legal in Veracruz.
In Veracruz, abortion is a legal health service. You have the right to a safe abortion, and the law protects you. Local legislation guarantees the right to an abortion based on the free choice of the woman or pregnant person during the first 12 weeks of pregnancy.
